Now that Memorial Day has unofficially kicked off the Summer and the SUP race season, we thought we’d share a couple of big Speedboard achievements. On May 19th, Will Rich took first place in the hotly contested Essex River Race. Seemed like Paul Morrison from Good Morning Gloucester took note of all the hard work Will put in over the winter when he commented,
It looks like there is a motor under his board, his time 1 hour, 2 minutes, 32 seconds. Crazy.”
Winning always tastes sweet, but the day was made that much more exciting by the debut of the brand new 14′ carbon fiber Speedboard. This is the first of our new production line 14′ Speedboards for this summer. If you’re interested in getting your hands on one of these speed merchants, just give us a shout at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sunday was more of the same, with Will taking first place in the SUP division of the 16th Annual Mystic River Herring Paddle. Big difference from Saturday was Will was back on the 20′ Speedboard, finishing the 12 mile course in 2 hours, 4 minutes, 9 seconds.
The races are gonna be coming thick and fast this summer, with the next opportunity for you to catch Will and the Speedboard team happening this Saturday, June 2nd at the Buzzards Bay Classic in Wesport, MA. First person to mention this post gets a hug from Will…*swoon*
